Reasons why complete and precise information on quenching intensity is required Grossmann’ s quench severity factor “ H” and its shortcomings. GM – Quenchometer test. Industrial quenching oils – Determination of cooling characteristics – laboratory test method (ISO-9950). Standard test method for determination of cooling characteristics of aqueous polymer quenchants by cooling curve analysis with agitation, Tensi method (ASTM D 6482-99). Methods for cooling curve analysis. Determination of the hardening power. Workshop designed Temperature Gradient System (TGS) for quenching analysis. Calculation of Heat Transfer Coefficients (HTC). Flux-Sensor for determination of heat transfer coefficients at High Pressure Gas Quenching (HPGQ) in vacuum furnaces.
